The first "Polygamy Day ®" officially occurred and was so declared on August 19, 2001, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, U.S.A. In the subesquent months that followed, papers and organization were put into place in order to establish a non-profit corporation, Polygamy Day, Inc.. On April 19, 2002, "Articles of Incorporation" were filed for Polygamy Day, Inc. with State Of Maine, U.S.A. On April 22, 2002, the "Articles of Incorporation" were accepted and filed by the Deputy Secretary of State (of the State of Maine).
