Over the year leading up to "Polygamy Day ® 7," the fight for freedom for consenting adult polygamists contiunue to advance. After the capture of Mormon sect leader Warren Jeffs, the national polygamy movement's opposition to Jeffs was reported. When the Republican Party lost their majorities in both houses of the U.S. Congress, the likelihood of a federal big government marriage amendment were vastly diminished. In early summer, the Massachusetts legislature stopped the possibility of a state constitutional amendment to overturn the Goodridge decision.
Also, on the very day of the 4th Anniversary of Lawrence v. Texas, June 26, 2007, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially registered the federal trademark of Polygamy Day ® - Reg. No. 3,256,270.
Polygamy supporters had much to celebrate on August 19, 2007, "Polygamy Day ® 7."
